"The Mission Hall Gallery will host June Bartlett as artist on residence to commence their 2018 summer season. June will have an individual exhibition (20 + paintings) and be available to meet clients during the two weeks she is here. She will also paint and people will be able to watch her if they so wish. During this time June will also facilitate two workshops."
1973 Nov.
Her first visit to Caithness in the Scottish Highlands, residing in a traditional croft, painting local scenery and exhibiting and selling locally. Repeated this experience for many years after and still makes regular working trips to Scotland. Learned the language!
1979 Oct. Exhibition at the Embankment Gallery, Tattershall Castle, Victoria Embankment, London.
1979 Nov. Her first travels to Dubai, U.A.E. exhibiting at British Week, Dubai Metropolitan Hotel, Dubai. For several years after in Dubai - two shows a year - The Dubai Motor Show as well as British Week, Dubai.
1980 May. Commissioned to paint a portrait of Lord Louis Mountbatten for The Royal Gala Combined Charities Convention in Jersey, C.I. in Nov. 1980. The painting was donated to the R.N.A.S., Yeovilton, Somerset where it is now on permanent display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
1981. Solo exhibition at the Intercontinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. and after at a mixed show at The Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi.
1983. She was introduced to Sheikh Isa bin Sulman Al Khalifa, Emir of Bahrain and completed his portrait in 1984. Several of June's works of Bahrain are in the Emir's private collection. For the next 4 years she resided for the most part in Bahrain producing portraits and landscapes.
1986. June was invited to the Sultanate of Oman by the Ministry of Information, Muscat to tour and paint the local environs. Over the next several years she's made regular painting trips including Salalah, Dhofar.
1992. First showing of work at the Mathaf Gallery, Belgravia, London. 1994. Solo exhibition at the Mathaf Gallery, Belgravia, London. Has shown regularly since 1995.
1994. She was commissioned by Marconi Radar Systems to paint a portrait of H.H. Sultan Qaboos, Sultan of Oman. This was followed by an official visit to the Sultanate.
1997 Feb. Exhibited at The Majlis Gallery, Dubai - in the 'New Orientalists' exhibition.
1999. Assisted in putting on an exhibition of more than 50 artists works at Whiteleys called 'Take One Woman'.
1999 Nov. Exhibited at The Majlis Gallery, Dubai - 'The First Ten Years'.
2000. Produced 4 portraits for 'Take One Woman' exhibition.
2000 Nov. Showed at Gallery Kaleidoscope, London in 'Small and Beautiful' exhibition.
2001 Jun. Showed at Gallery Kaleidoscope, London in 'Naked' exhibition.
2002 Apr/May. June was invited to two visits by the Royal Court, Jordan to sketch the varied landscape.
2003/2004 She was commissioned to paint twelve landscapes to hang in the Diwan.
2004 Feb. Exhibited at 'The Affordable Art Fair' with Gallery Kaleidoscope.
2004 Nov. Showed at The Majlis Gallery, Dubai in the 'Small Oils & Large Landscapes' exhibition.
2005 Mar. Exhibited at 'The Affordable Art Fair' with Gallery Kaleidoscope.
2006 July Exhibited at The Mathaf Gallery, London. "The Contemporary Orientalists Summer Exhibition".
2009 Sep. Solo exhibition at The Mathaf Gallery, London. - "On the road to Damascus".
2010 Dec. Exhibited at The Majlis Gallery, Dubai. June Bartlett and Friends "Perigrinations".
2011 June. Work selected and sold in the Chelsea Arts Society Summer Exhibition.
2012 April/May. June was commissioned by St. Georges House, Windsor Castle, to paint a portrait of Canon John White – one of the four Canons of Windsor. (See Gallery Two)
2013 June. Work selected and sold in the Chelsea Arts Society Summer Exhibition.
2014 November. Work showm in the Majlis Galleries 25th Anniversary Exhibition.
2016 December. Work shown at the Dunbeath Art Show, Dunbeath, Caithness.
2018 October. Two artworks by June were accepted and hung in the Chelsea Arts Society Summer exhibition.
